Case study
Nature's Envy, 2008 to today
A California natural personal care brand founded in 1970, with no China presence in 2008. AOG became its exclusive full-channel agent and has grown the business every single year since.
13.5M+
Units sold of the best-selling product
From a standing start in 2008 to RMB 100M+ in annual China sales, with growth recorded in every single year.
2008
Market entry, from zero
16 yrs
Consecutive growth on record
The curve
Growth that compounds, not spikes
Every bar in AOG's internal record is positive. The years that look flat, 2016 at +6.4% and 2022 at +9.39%, are the years the business absorbed channel resets and lockdowns without losing shelf.
Sequence
How the shelf was built
Channel order matters more than channel count. Imported supermarkets first for credibility, chains for volume, e-commerce once pricing could be policed.
2008 to 2011
Entry conditions
AOG imported Nature's Envy on its own account, registered the first imported cosmetics dossiers and opened high-end imported supermarkets in Beijing and Shanghai. Small base, triple-digit first-year growth, everything reinvested in shelf space.
2012 to 2016
Chain rollout and BA network
Expansion into national key accounts including China Resources Ole', Sam's Club, Freshippo and CS beauty chains. Regional teams in East, West, South and North China, with in-store beauty advisors trained and managed centrally.
2017 to 2020
Compliance and e-commerce
Systematic product registration begins (237 products filed since 2017). Tmall International, JD.com and Redbook flagship operations added, so online and offline reinforce each other rather than compete on price.
2021 to today
Category leadership
5,000+ retail outlets across 120+ cities, ISO 9001 certification in 2022, Douyin and influencer distribution layered on. A single hero product has passed 13.5 million units sold, and the brand's annual China sales exceed RMB 100 million.
Execution
What the growth looked like on the ground
Beauty advisors at counter, custom display props built in-house, national expos and our own warehouses.
